Interpellating History: A Work for Three Actors – Oxford

“Interpellating History: A Work for Three Actors” was at the OVADA Gallery in Oxford. The concept for this project was to get participants to engage with historical figures that were innovative in some field of knowledge. The actors and myself chose Isambard Kingdom Brunel, Ada Lovelace and Joseph Banks because each actor had some connection to their character’s field of knowledge. Images and props relating to each character were in the constructed social space. The actors would speak with participants on a platform about who they were and would ask questions of people about contemporary life. This made the participants into experts and performers. Each actor performed twice over six days.
